Obituary

WK was born March 28, 1930.  He reached his eternal heavenly home December 12, 2024 in Kennett, Missouri at the age of 94 years, 8 months and 14 days.  He was born in Morrilton, Arkansas to Paige Rubin Windham and Ida Lula Hyatt who proceeded him in death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wardell, Mo.

At the age of 17 he moved to Wardell where he met Almedia June Clayton. They were married on June 3, 1950, in Piggott, Arkansas.  They were married 62 wonderful years before her passing in 2012. Besides marrying the love of his life, he was most proud of his four daughters. Sharon(Buddy)Fielder who proceeds him in death, Patty(Hank)Swims of Portageville, Lee Ann Halstead of Gideon and Melissa(Marshall)Sharp of Gideon.

He would say his biggest accomplishment was family and the way he lived his life around her and his four girls, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved family gatherings, going to their events and cheering them all on at the many ball games he attended.

WK was a lifelong farmer, avid fisherman, hunter, 32nd degree Mason, Shriner, husband, father and a friend to all.  He never met a stranger and if you had a minute, he always had a handshake, a smile and a story to tell.  He had a laugh so contagious that you couldn't help but chuckle along with him.

WK loved to fish and that took him back to Petit Jean Mountain every chance he got.  It was a special place for him, his girls and entire family.  There were many memories made there that will never be forgotten.  When he wasn't at the mountain, he spent his time in his garden which was large enough to feed the neighborhood.

Over the years WK and June were blessed with 6 grandchildren.   Whitney (Sarah) Swims of Champaign, Il; Chad Fielder of Campbell, Mo; Tommy (Alison) Halstead of Portageville, Mo; David(Kim)Fielder of Campbell, Mo; Matthew Sharp, who proceeds him in death and Allison Sharp of Jonesboro, Ar.

WK also has 9 great grandchildren: Lucille and Gwendolyn Swims, Alice Katherine and Shelby Grace Halstead, Cody, Madison and Kason Fielder, Melanie and Marcus Torres. 3 great great grandchildren: Granger Fielder, Johnathan and Mila Lee.  Along with a host of many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter Sharon Fielder, One grandson Matthew Sharp, his parents, four brothers; Olin Windham, WR Windham, Gerald (Dub) Windham, PR (Junior) Windham and two sisters Flola Mae Rehm and Eula Palmer.

His services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Gideon, Mo. Visitation will be 5-8 pm on Tuesday December 17th 2024 and Funeral will be held at 11am on Wednesday December 18th 2024.  Services will be officiated by Randy Deprow.
