Virginia Marie Ward, 91 died April 27, 2015 at Miner Nursing Center in Miner, MO. Born May 28, 1923 at Portageville, MO to the late Jesse Robert and Amelia Boone Ward. She was a member of the First Church of God. Virginia graduated with the class of 1941 from Portageville High School. She worked as a secretary for several years in Portageville. She later moved to Michigan and worked as an executive secretary for Michigan Tool Company. After Several years in Michigan, she returned to Portageville and continued her work as secretary. She retired from DAEOC Head Start on December 31, 1991. Survivors include two brothers and sister-in-laws, Harold and Jean Ward of Warren, MI and James and Benita Ward of Athens, TN and several nieces and nephews and a host of many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Corine Estes and Florine Nolan, and one brother, Jesse Odell Ward. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday April 30, 2015 From 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the First Church of God. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon at the First Church of God with Pastor Bob Kespelher officiating.
