Dorothy "Virginia" Hitchcock

Was born February 07, 1943 in Portageville, MO to Haggard Prince and Lillian Marie "Mary Jean" Prince. She passed away on Sunday; November 04, 2018 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO at the age of 75.

Preceding her in death were her parents: Lillian Marie "Mary Jean" and Haggard Prince and two brothers; Gary and Larry Prince. Mrs. Virginia was a member of the First Church of God, Past Chamber of Commerce, and was past Secretary for the New Madrid County Library Board. In 1977 she and her late husband Jim Turnage ran the Sears Catalog Store, In 1994 the store changed to Western Auto, the store was sold in 2014 when Mrs Virginia's health became worse. She also owned the Laundromat, Virginia strived to be an excellent business woman, she loved serving her community, keeping up with her many customers and her loyal employees. On March 11, 1988 in Portageville she married Elbert Hitchcock after his retirement he help Virginia diligently with the store and all her needs.

Left to honor her memory her husband: Elbert Hitchcock of Bertrand, MO, step-sons: Vann (Lorna) Turnage of Portageville, MO, Scott Turnage of Springfield, MO, Hershel (Susan) Hitchcock of Bertrand, MO, two brothers: Charles Prince of Herron, Ohio, Bill Prince of St. Charles, MO. And a host of many other relatives, church family, friends, customers .
