Eunice "Violet" Porter Was born October 30, 1925 in Kewanee, MO to Roy Lee Rhodes and Eunice Vera Puckett. She died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Golden LIving Center, New Madrid MO at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 26 days. She was united in marriage to Olan David Porter on August 24, 1946 in New Madrid, MO, he preceded her in death on March 14, 1999. She was a member of the New Madrid Baptist Church and was a retired Secretary of New Madrid Elementary School. Preceding her in death, were her parents, Eunice Puckett Rhodes & Roy Lee Rhodes; brothers & sisters: Cloise Lee, Nathaniel Shelton, Katherine Louise , Addie Pauline, Vera Elizabeth, Helen Margie, Jimmie Lee, Roy Thomas & Coyle William. She leaves to cherish her memories, son Olan David Porter Jr of New Madrid MO, daughters, Mary McGee of New Madrid MO,Vera Lee Strickland of Sikeston, MO, her brother, Harold "Scrogg" Rhodes of New Madrid MO, sister, Betty Corgan of Sikeston MO, 7 Grand Children, 16 Great Grand Children and a host many other relatives and friends.
