Vester Marvin Robinson

Was born September 8, 1926 in Bertrand, MO to Joe Robinson and Jeffie Lee Gaines. He passed on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Portageville Health Care Facility at the age of 90 years 11 months and 19 days.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were one daughter, Mary Jo Riley in 2000, five sisters, Edith , Lorene, Georgia, Bessie, Edna, four brothers, J.B., Amon, Chester and Gay, 10 nieces and nephews.

Vester and Mary Inell Standfield/Walker were married October 10, 1948 in Piggott, AR by Rev. Stephen High, pastor of Piggott First Church of God.

He grew up on a farm east of Portageville. He served in the United States Army serving during WWII.  He worked at Portageville Food Center, Baker & Teroy Grocery Store, Midwest Auto, Western Auto and later he became a part of Portageville Police Department, retiring as a sergeant after serving 23 years. In addition to his wife, he leaves one son, James Robinson, two daughters and sons-in-laws, Judy and James Patton and Gerri and Don Miller all from Portageville. A special sister-in-law, Von Calhoun of Grubbs, AR. Von lived with the Robinson family for two years, graduating from Portageville School. His grandchildren, Lynn, Krissy, Patrick, Dawn, Heather, Chris, David, Jay, Darrell and Lance, three step-grandchildren, Brittany,  Charlotte. and Brian , seventeen great-grandchildren, fourteen  step-great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
