Walter "Van" Patten

W as born January 16, 1958 in Hayti, MO to Mary Alice (Phillips) Davis & Kenneth Patton. He passed away on Sunday; November 10, 2019 at his residence in Portageville, MO at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 25 days.

V an graduated from Portageville High School in 1976. He tried several occupations until he found his true calling, in the auto body field. His passion and skill for repairing vehicles was second to none Van was proud of his reputation as "The Go to Man" for cosmetic repairs, even after his retirement.

F or as much as he loved repairing vehicles, his Harley, his Dallas Cowboys and Nascar, Van loved his family even more. He was a big man with an even bigger heart. He enjoyed family gatherings and was one of the biggest jokesters around. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. If you were fortunate enough to be his friend you definitely had a friend for life.

A bove all of that, his greatest accomplishment in life was being the best big daddy to his daughter Lori and the greatest PaPa to his grandsons, Cody & Walker who thought he hung the moon and he would have if the wanted him to! Also left to mourn his passing was his mom – Mary Alice (Phillips) Davis of Sikeston, MO, his dad and step-mom, Kenneth & Sharon Patton of Portageville, MO, his Loving wife of 34 years- Loretta Patten of Portageville, MO, his faithful companion for 2 years – Brenda Laws of Portageville, MO, three sisters- Darla (Gary) Craft of Cape Girardeau, MO, Katina (Cary) Wilson of Piggott, AR, Kimberly (Tommy) Collins of Wardell, MO, and a host of many other relatives and friends.
