Obituary

Tricia Lynn Bennett, 54, of New Madrid, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Born on September 30, 1971, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Lydia (Holt) Motes and the late John Motes. Tricia was a familiar face in the community, having dedicated time to serving local families as a bus driver for the Sikeston School District. On July 23, 2016, she was united in marriage to John Bennett at New Life Ministries.

Tricia was a woman of many passions. She found great joy and peace in her "Diamond Arts" projects and had a deep, lifelong affection for her many animals. Above all, she was devoted to her family and her faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Motes, and her son, Jody Morse, who passed away in 2024.

Tricia's memory will be cherished by her husband, John Bennett of New Madrid; her mother, Lyda Motes of New Madrid; her children, Aaron Blanks of Farmington, Sean Bennett of Brandon, South Dakota, Chris Motes of New Madrid, Jessica Bennett of New Madrid, and Melanie Hale-Bennett of New Madrid; three brothers, Joseph Kobylinski, Sunnie Yenigus, and Tony Yenigus; three sisters, Bobbi Collett, Deanna Marler, and Brenda Starr; and 11 grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at DeLisle Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. G.L. Keen officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
