Terry Dale Simmons

He was born December 24, 1956 in Gideon, MO to Joseph L. Simmons and Donna Rene (Nolen) Simmons. He passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at Hayti, MO at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 16 days old.

He was united in marriage to his loving wife of 44 years, Sandy (Penman) Simmons, on November 3, 1978 in Portageville, MO. Together they built a beautiful life together raising their children, Joseph & Tara.

Terry was the president of the PHS Class of '75. He loved spending time and planning reunions with his classmates that became lifelong friends. After graduating, he pursued a career within his passion of carpentry, even working alongside friends and family to build his and Sandy's dream home. He eventually went on to spend years working and retiring from Noranda Aluminum.

Terry was blessed to receive an organ donation (kidney) 15 years ago. He continued this cycle of selfless love by choosing to be a donor upon his passing.

Preceding him in death were his parents,Joseph L. and Donna (Nolen) Simmons; in-laws, Robert and Marjory Penman; one of his best friends, Ronnie Underwood; brother-in-law, Al Cummings; and sister-in-laws Kim Simmons and Donna Simmons.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Sandy Simmons of Portageville, MO; son, Joseph R. Simmons of Portageville, MO; daughter, Tara (Matthew) Conaway of Springfield, MO; grandchildren: Kolbe Max & Tucker Matthew Conaway of Springfield, MO; brother, Ronnie Simmons of Portageville, MO; his sister, Carla Cummings of Portageville, MO; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
