Shirley Mae Wood Pierce

Shirley Mae Wood Pierce was born on December 31, 1930, in Wardell, Missouri. to the late Lovena Huntington  & Boyd Wood. She passed away  on Tuesday December 26, 2023 at her home in Portageville, Mo at the  age of 92 years 11 months and 26 days.

She was united in marriage to Orville Pierce on May 3, 1980 in Granite  City, Illinois he preceded her in death .Also preceding her in death  was her parents, Lovena Huntington  and Boyd Wood, and  one son James William Waynick  and one daughter Mary Ellen Waynick, Brothers; Boyd  Wood Jr., William Lee Wood, Richard Thomas Wood, Sisters Virginia Sue  Watson, Betty Ann Rollins, Daisy Williams, Linda Barretta, Patricia  Wood, Great grandchildren, Heather Perry, Teanna Craig, George Bush and Great Great , Granddaughter Everleigh Reigh Griebe.

She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church, in Portageville, Mo. Loved to spend time with family and time outside. She leaves to cherish her memories, Son, John D Waynick JR of Murray, Ky. Her daughters Carolyn Sue Hartwell and her husband Peter of Festus,  MO, Allie Mae Mausshardt of St. Louis, Mo, Deborah Perry of  Portageville, Mo. One brother Gaylon Eugene Wood and his wife Helen of  Indiana, One sister Mary Womack of Portageville, Mo. 13 grandchildren:  Paul Crites, Robin Tenshler, Raymond Perry &  "Laura", Patricia Craig "Teddy" ,  James Perry Sr &  "Christine", Sherry Proctor &"Roger", John D.  Waynick III & "Kristine", Christina Smith, Misty Smith, Shawna Conley & "Jamie", Russell Waynick & "April", Elizabeth Mausshardt, Charles  Waynick & "Towel" 35 Great grandchildren and 24 Great Great Grandchildren. And a host of many other relatives and friends.
