Shelby Jean Hurley, age 84 longtime resident of Portageville, Mo. passed away Sunday, Feb.6 2022 at the Lakes of Maumelle Nursing Home.

She was born July 11, 1937 in Lilbourn, Mo. to H.H. and Glenna Halbrook Guiling who both preceded her in death. She started her teaching career in a one room school house in the Dogwood community of East Prairie, Mo.  She taught most of her career as an elementary teacher in Marston Mo.   One of her fondest memories she talk about was bringing her pet racoon to school for her children to see.

In 1961 she married Rondal Lee Hurley who preceded her in death in 2007.

She leaves to cherish her memories her two sons.   Parrish Hurley of Maumelle, AR  and Perry Hurley of Greenwood MO,  4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Delisle Funeral home at _12: noon  with Funeral  service at 1 pm Saturday 12, 2022.  Interment  will be at the portageville cementary
