S andra "Sandy" Verneil (Matlock) Ritchey, aged 58, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born July 28th, 1964, in Selmer, Tennessee to Nig Matlock and Faye (Thacker) Matlock. She married William Ritchey on July 27th, 2019.

H er compassionate and devoted nature showed throughout her career as a CNA, which she worked as for over 15 years. Sandy truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as chatting with friends over coffee and spending time with her family. She loved animals, pretty flowers, sitting out in the sun, and being a grandmother.

S he is survived by her husband, William; her children, Chelsey Matlock and Nathan (Nancy) Matlock, her grandchildren: Kaleigh, Devaughn, Ezekiel, Maria, Gabriel, and Ariella, her sisters: Shirley (Virgil) Estes, Carol (Randy) Williams, Judy (Billy) Fisher, and her younger brother, Timothy Matlock. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Jerry Matlock.

S andy will especially be remembered for her kind heart, fiery spirit, humble personality, playful humor, and the never-ending love she had for her family.

V isitation for Sandy will be Thursday, March 16th, from 10 a.m to 1 p.m in Portageville, Missouri, at the DeLisle Funeral Home. Funeral services will proceed immediately after at 1.
