Sam Nathanial Collins
B rother Sam Nathaniel Collins Sr. was formed Friday, October 11, 1957 at 9:41 P.M and was called home to be with his Lord Thursday night, March 5, 2020 at the age of 62 years and 5 months.
H e was preceded in death by his parents, John Mae Bell Collins, two sisters, Bernice Mitchell and Dorothy Martin, both of Springfield, IL.
O n June 29 th 1990, Brother Sam was united in marriage to Sister Constance Collins of Springfield, IL and to this union was borned two children Sam Nathaniel Collins Jr. and Angel Lorraine Collins. His little angel girl preceded him in death.
B rother Sam's life truly began to blossom when he totally surrendered to the true and living God. He moved back to Missouri became a devoted member and servant of the Temple of Gods Glory under the leadership of Bishop Reginald & Evangelist Mary Grant, who is his sister and brother in law. He would work with the Men Department and where ever he could fit in. It was a joy to him to do whatever he could just to help out.
H e was employed by the Goodwill Program and worked at the Portageville Community Center. He enjoyed his job and the people he served was a pleasure for him to work with.
G od blessed Brother Sam to meet, mother Willie Ann Collins, a successful member of the Temple of Gods Glory and they became " Good Godly Friends" Alone with her family, they loved and cared for him as a member of their family.
B rother Sam will be greatly missed for he was loved by all but we know that God loved him first.
H e leaves to cherish his memory one son, Sam Nathaniel Collins Jr of Springfield, IL, one brother, John A. Collins (Sandra) of East St. Louis, IL, three sisters; Johnnie M Levi of Springfield, IL, Emma Washington of Las Vegas, NV and Mary Grant (Reginald) of Homestown, MO, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
