Ruth Jones

W as born on July 29, 1929 in Portageville, MO to the late Nora A. Merritt and Aaron Briggs Ward.  She passed away on Tuesday,  April 4, 2023 in Henry Etta Nursing Home at the age of 93 years,8 months and six days.

She was united in marriage on February 22, 1954 at Ft. Sill, OK to Robert A. Jones from Bristol Conn.  She retired in 1992 from the US Government with 30 years of service. She was a volunteer for 5 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department Senior Victim Assistance Team (SVAT), and other Senior organizations.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Portageville, Mo and Beta Sigma Phi of Colorado Springs, Colorado.  She enjoyed playing bridge, golf and flying.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Aaron Briggs Ward Jr, Bobby Ward, Billy Ward and George Ward.  Three sisters, Peggy Ward, Doris Ward Warren, and Barbara Ward Kelly.

S he leaves to cherish her memories, six nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.

There will be no service at the request of the deceased.
