W as born May 10, 1958 in Cairo, Illinois to Richard Ivie and Shirley Wilson Ivie. He passed away on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO at the age of 59 years. 11 months and 15 days.
D ecember 6, 2002 he married his soulmate Bernice Ivie. Richie was retired from the New Madrid Power Plant, where he worked as a journeyman electrician. He served as an active Christian member of the Church of God in Portageville, he loved the outdoors: deer & turkey hunting, fishing, doing "his projects", he also enjoyed riding motorcycles and most of all spending time with family and friends. He was the best husband, dad and papa. Everyone who knew Richie, loved him, he was full of life, always smiling, and loved to make people laugh.
H e leaves to cherish his many memories: his mom & dad, Shirley & Richard Ivie of Portageville, MO, his wife: Bernice Ivie of Portageville, MO; two sons, Richard E. III "Trey" (Jami) Ivie of Portageville, MO, Teddy (Katelyn) Ivie of Cape Girardeau, MO; his two daughters, Mary Hannah Ivie of Madison, MS, Amy Babb of Lilbourn, MO, one step-daughter, Tara (Josh) Rhoades of Portageville, MO; four brothers: Stanley Ivie of Sikeston, MO, Mike (Mary) Ivie of Poplar Bluff, MO, Danny Ivie of Portageville, MO, Rodney (Stephanie) Ivie of Portageville, MO; two sisters: Valerie (Trey) Rone of Portageville, MO, Candace (Darian) Allen of Portageville, MO; eight grandchildren; Dakota Ivie, Gavin Ivie, Baylee Ivie, Blake & Max, Hazel Ivie, Brinley Rhoades, Olive Ivie and a host of many other relatives and friends.
