Richard Allen LaFerney

W as born March 14, 1945  in Portageville, MO to Richard B. LaFerney and Dorothy Marshall LaFerney. He died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital, Cape Girardeau, MO at the age of 71 years, 11 months, and 21 days. Preceding him in death were his parents, Dorothy (Marshall) and Richard B. LaFerney and his sister, Carol LaFerney.

I n addition to his careers as a police officer and carpenter, Richard also loved camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

He leaves to cherish his memories one son David LaFerney and fiance' Jamie of Bono, AR; one daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Micheal Yocum of Jonesboro, AR , three brothers, Billy LaFerney of New Madrid, MO, Dennis LaFerney of Lilbourn, MO and Chris LaFerney of Morley, MO; three sisters, Rosemary Dooley of Lilbourn, MO, Evelyn Nunez of Indiana and Debbie McCabe of Bertrand, MO; and four grandchildren, Destany and Haley LaFerney and Alexis and Adrianna Sockey, one great- grandchild, Candice LaFerney and a host of many other relatives and friends.
