Obituary

Raymond Richard Riley Born Sepetmber 2, 1933 in Poplar Bluff, Mo to Flora Jones Riley Shoemate and Charles Sylvester Riley. Died May 20, 2008 at Las Vegas, NV at the age of 74. He was a graduate of Thayer High School and a member of the Track team and High School Band, Ray possessed an immense love of life and people. A professional ballroom dance teacher, he was often heard expressing, "Life is a beautiful dance". For those fortunate enough to know him, they will attest that his love of life was only matched by his generosity. He laughed readily, gave freely and loved deeply. Ray believed in the "Big Church" (the one that contains all others) and that our purpose on earth is take care of each other. To that end, he "adopted" many people. Literally. He would just take them in. 22 years ago he took in John Wagner, a baby at the time, and raised him as his son. He is also survived by his fiancee, Bette Storm; half-brother, George Mooney and numerous relatives throughout Missouri. He leaves us with his legacy of love, memories of laughter and his personal credo, "Think Beautiful Thoughts, Say Beautiful Words".
