Peggy Jean Reed

Was born March 22, 1937 in Ridgly, TN to Acie Franklin and Jessie Lou (Johnson) Hayes who precedes her in death.

She was united in marriage on August 22, 1961 to William (Bill) Reed in New Madrid, Missouri who precedes her in death. She was blessed with six children. Five sons and one daughter. Ronnie (Butch) Riley who precedes her in death. Glenn (Debbie) Hayes of Wardell, MO, Jimmy (Necie) Reed of New Madrid, Billy and David Reed of Marston, MO, one daughter, Connie Sue Miller of Paducah, KY. One very special daughter-in-law, Debbie Reed of New Madrid, MO, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of many nieces and nephews.

She was also survived by two brothers, Bernard (Connie) Hayes of Marston, MO and Johnny (Dot) Hayes of Springfield, IL, two sisters, Edna Reno of Caruthersville, MO and Jackie Hayes of Sikeston, MO, Also preceding her in death was one brother, Billy Loften Hayes and one sister, Ione Cook.

Peggy was a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. She immensely enjoyed cooking for her large family as well as working in her yard, playing a variety of games and tackling tough puzzles along with cheering on her beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
