Peggy Ann Hawkins of Lilbourn, Missouri was born on October 8, 1942, she passed away peacefully the morning of Thursday December 29, 2022 surrounded by her family.

She was born in western Tennessee to Earl and Doris Richard.  Her family moved to Risco Missouri, when she was a small child. She graduated from Risco high school in 1961 and married Terry Lloyd Hawkins on November 25, 1962. Last month, she and Terry celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Around 1965 Peggy went to work for Bill Jones at his drug store. Bill became a mentor for her and Terry. She loved working there. But when her first child came along, she knew her job was to be at home.

Peggy loved her family. She had two children, Margaret Ann Linn (Ted), Earl Dewayne Hawkins (Christy), two grandsons, Logan (Heather), Landon, one granddaughter Londyn and two great grandchildren, Remi Cate, and Gunnar Reed.

Peggy loved the Lord. She loved serving in her church, First Baptist of Lilbourn. Peggy's true gift was hospitality. She served as church hostess for over 20 years. It was not unusual for her to host people in her home. There could be anyone from a traveling evangelist and their family to a group of college kids. She was also known to make her famous ham salad and take it to those who loved it so.

Peggy had one sister Karleen Golden of Clinton, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Larry Golden.

Our hearts are heavy with loss but hopeful with anticipation for the day we will see her again in Heaven.
