Paul "Pete" Welch Was born November 28, 1928 in Brent, MO to Cora Alexander Welch and Joseph Monroe "Pete" Welch. He died Thursday; Jan. 28, 2010 at St. Francis Hosp- Cape Girardeau, MO at the age of 81 years & two months. He was united in marriage to Lillian DeLisle Welch on December 31, 1954 in Portageville MO. She survives of the home. He was a veteran of the Navy then went into the Air force where he was a pilot and an Air Force Flight Iinstructor. He was a past commander of the Portageville VFW post and past Alderman of the City of Portageville and was Owner/Operator of Econo Mart Store of Portageville and many business enterprises in the Portageville area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cora Alexander Welch & Joseph Monroe "Pete" Welch; one son Judson M. Welch on 9/10/1987; his sisters: Lorraine, Nadine, and Rachel Welch and Bonnie Harrell; his brothers; Jim Dick, Allen, John and Don Welch. He was a member of the St. Eustachius Catholic Church. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife; Lillian Welch of Portageville, MO; one son, Walter Alan Welch of Parris Island SC; his daughters: Patricia Bright of Henderson, TN, Paula Martin of Portageville, MO, Ramona Hughey of Cape Girardeau, MO, Carolyn Ellington of Seymour, IN, Vicky Stewart of Milan, TN and Evelyn "Eenie" Rudd of Newbern, TN; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
