Paul Wesley Phillips

W as born October  25, 1927 in Portageville, Missouri to Lena Irene Ward and Samuel Allan Phillips. he passed away on November 2, 2021 at Portageville Nursing Center at the age of 94 years.

H e was united in marriage December 14, 1946 in Piggott, AR to Kathern (Bryant) Phillips, sadly she preceded him in death less than a month ago, October 9, 2021, now they are united again. Also preceding him in death was his parents, Lena Irene Ward, and Samuel Allan Phillips, his siblings, Colleen, Norma, Opal, Allan, James and Rebel Phillips.

P aul was a carpenter by trade, starting at a young age working on a farm for Mr. Orville Henson driving a mule team.  Then he was employed by Mr. Joe Stryker at Pull Tot Toy Factory. Later working for Mr. Stryker in the building industry.   He helped build the Ross School building and went to other states to build and remodel homes. In 1958 he opened his own business which finally became Phillips Paint and Paper. One of his projects was building the First Church of God which he attended with his wife Kathern.  He and Kathern taught Sunday School for 30 years, he also sang in the choir and sat on several boards.

P aul enjoyed hunting and fishing, his fishing stories always were included in his fishing trips. He had many fishing buddies, Michael Wilson, Don Carson, Bill Phillips, Bub Lafont, L. Helfrich, and his son Jackie.  In his last years he talked about his fishing adventures and his many friends.

H e leaves to cherish his memories one son & daughter-in-law; Jackie & Joyce Phillips of Portageville, MO, sister; Hope Rowden of Florida, two granddaughters; Brandy Hartman and Kelly Adams, five great-grandchildren; Sydney, Luke and Layla Adams, Hunter and Mazie Grace Hartman, three great-great grandchildren; Ava, Lucas and Colby Hartman and a host of many other relatives and friends.
