Opal Lawson was born August 22, 1921 in Catron, Mo to Lydia Cathryn Graham Fair & Alpheus Ernie Fair. She died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Cape Girardeau, Mo at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 16 days. She was united in marriage to Sam Lawson on May 8, 1939 in New Madrid, MO. He proceeded her in death on June 17, 1977. Also proceeding her in death were her parents, Daughter Janie Davis, Grandsons Roger Lawson II, Jason Paul Dugger, Pete Ernie Lawson, and 6 brothers Floyd, William (Bill), Irvin, Walter, Gearld and Herbert Lee (Pete). Three sisters, Anna, Lorine and Mary, also proceeded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories her three sons and two daughters in law: Sammy Lawson, Roger & Barbara Lawson of Portageville, Mo, and Ernie & Kim Lawson of Poplar Bluff, MO. She also leaves two daughters and two sons in law: Florence & Paul Dugger of Sikeston, MO and Sherry & Dennis Hooe of Cape Girardeau, Mo. Other family members include two brothers, Vearl Fair of Festus Mo, and Charles Fair of Senatobia, Ms; three sisters, Jewell Black of Granite City, Il, Louise Mayo of Ferguson, MO, and Mearl Blankenship of Arnold, Mo. Mrs. Lawson also leaves fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a host of many other relatives and friends.
