Nell Henderson (Wolfe), age 95, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Paducah, Kentucky. Born on September 7, 1929, in Savannah, Tennessee, Nell lived a long and fulfilling life marked by deep devotion to her family and a strong connection to her community.

She was the beloved wife of Joe Henderson for 70 years until his passing. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and resilience. Nell was a devoted mother to her children: Janet, Joe Myron, Bobby, and Donna Mattingly. Though she endured the heartbreaking loss of three of her children—Janet, Joe Myron, and Bobby—her strength, grace, and unwavering spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Mattingly; seven grandchildren: John Clark, Holly Castl, Jana Clark, Amy Henderson, Jason Mattingly, John Henderson, and Jennifer Henderson; fifteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Nancy Mott; her brother, Dean Wolfe; and two cherished daughters-in-law, Brenda Henderson and Tracy Henderson.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Henderson; her parents, Granville and Blanche Wolfe; her children, Janet, Joe Myron, and Bobby; and five brothers: Edwin Lee Wolfe, Joe Robert Wolfe, Louie Wolfe, Don Wolfe, and Jerry Wolfe.

Throughout her life, Nell found joy in simple, meaningful pursuits. She had a passion for fashion and took great pride in dressing the ladies of Portageville with care and style. Her home was often filled with the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals prepared for family gatherings—a true reflection of her generous spirit. She also found peace in tending her yard and garden, where she nurtured beauty with patient, loving hands.

Nell's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. Her memory will be treasured always.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Delisle Funeral Home, 209 West Main Street. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Dry Bayou Baptist Church in Hayti, Missouri.
