Nancy Charolyn (Webb) Manley, born October 15, 1943, in Catron, Missouri, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend. She will be remembered for her strong faith, tireless work ethic, wonderful sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Charolyn married James Manley on June 23, 1963. Together, they shared 54 years of marriage before his passing in July 2017. The love they shared and the family they built together continue to make a lasting impact.
Charolyn loved the Lord and made it a priority to raise her children to know and love Jesus. Her faith was an important part of who she was and how she lived her life. For 50 years, she served as the piano player at Catron Baptist Church, sharing her musical talents and love for the Lord with her church family. Her years of faithful service were a testament to her dedication and commitment to her faith.
She also devoted 34 years working as a secretary at Lilbourn Elementary School and New Madrid County R-1 Middle School. Known for her hard work and dedication, Charolyn rarely sat down, whether she was at home cleaning house and caring for her children or at school answering phones, helping students and assisting the principal and teachers. She stayed busy.
Charolyn had a personality that was impossible to forget. She loved a good laugh and never passed up an opportunity for a practical joke. She had so much character, a wonderful sense of humor, and a special way of making life more enjoyable for those around her. She was a good friend to everyone who knew her, and her kindness, loyalty, and listening ear made her someone people treasured.
Charolyn is survived by her three children: Denise Warren of Ozark, Missouri; Webb Manley and Leigh Ann Manley of Marston, Missouri; and Nancy “Puffy” Taylor and her husband, David Taylor, of Greenbrier, Arkansas.
She also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren: Kaleb Warren of Springfield, Missouri; Chelsea Warren of Ozark, Missouri; Anna Barnett and her husband, Sam of New Madrid, Missouri; Daniel Manley and wife Sally of Fairview Heights, Illinois; Garrett Manley of Sikeston, Missouri; Micah Taylor of Conway, Arkansas; and Cully Taylor of Greenbrier, Arkansas.
Her legacy continues through her eight great-grandchildren: Charolyn (Charlie), Emerson, Carter, Ada and Mae Barnett; Sofia and Ivy Alvarez; and Elsie Manley.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jimmie Lou Webb; parents, James and Nancy (Calhoun) Webb and Grandma Nancy Louise Calhoun (among other aunts and uncles) who raised her.
She will forever be remembered as the heart of her family, a faithful servant of the Lord, and a friend to all, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
