In Loving Memory of Marzene Louise Townsend (Curtis)
October 24, 1930 – January 17, 2026
Marzene Louise Townsend, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Kirkwood, Missouri, on January 17, 2026, at the age of 95.

Born on October 24, 1930, in Conran, Missouri, to Elbert Andrew Curtis and Dellar Marie Curtis (Howell), Marzene grew up in a large and loving family. On December 18, 1948, she married Isaac "Hawk" Townsend, the son of John and Becky Townsend (Haney), in Piggott, Arkansas. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work, raising four children: Pamela Sue Robertson (Townsend), Linda Lou Townsend (deceased), Gregory Scott Townsend, and Keith Eric Townsend.
Marzene worked outside the home in both retail and as a nurse's aide before retiring many years ago. She was known for her caring nature, strong work ethic, and the love she poured into her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Linda Lou Townsend; five sisters—Juanita Benham, Vonnie Skelton, Ruby Inman, Emma Jean Northcut, and Judy Stephans; and six brothers—Edward Curtis, Bill Curtis, Vermont Curtis, Clint Curtis, Lonnie Curtis, and Franklin Curtis.

She is survived by three sisters—Pansy Prater, Barbara Wood, and Peggy Saines; her children—Pamela Sue (and the late Michael) Robertson of Cedar Hill, MO, Gregory Scott Townsend of St. Louis, MO, and Keith Eric (and Brandi) Townsend of Pensacola, FL; seven grandchildren—Shane Robertson (Jessica), Bridget Workman (Dustin), Brett Robertson (Hillary), Eric Townsend, Collyn Holliday (Brianna), Isaac Townsend, and Nola Naylor; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2026, at DeLisle Funeral Home.. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Portageville Cemetery.

Marzene's life was a testament to love, resilience, and devotion to family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
