Mary Sue Smelser

Was born April 22, 1959 in Gideon, MO to Margie Allean Sullivan & Carl Rogers.  She passed away Monday evening, November 9, 2020 at her residence in Risco with her family surrounding her.

Preceding her in death was her parents Margie Allean (Sullivan) Rogers & Carl Rogers. Mary Sue  was united in marriage March 25, 1988 to Roger Smelser. She was a elementary special education teacher for Portageville School District from 1997 until 2019 where everyone who's lives she touched will forever be grateful and sadden by losing such a kind soul. She enjoyed woodworking, birdwatching and sports.  She loved watching and attending the St. Louis Blues Hockey games. She dearly loved her students, her co-workers and most of all her family.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband; Roger Smelser of Risco, MO, her son, Richard (Gale) Weaver of  Essex, MO, brother; Carl (Rhonda) Rogers Jr. of Tallapoosa, MO, sisters;

Bertha (Jerry) Weaver of Tallapoosa, MO, Corliss (Larry) Wills of Campbell, MO, Judy (Sammy) Landers of Gideon, MO, Teresa (Bob) Rogers-Whitenack of Gainsville, Florida, 3 grandchildren;  Abby, Clayton & Nathan Weaver, one great-grandchild; Izzy Weaver and a host of many other  relatives and friends
