Mary Louise Jones, the eldest daughter of nine siblings, was born on November 9, 1929 in Durant, Mississippi to the late Jack Sr. and Jessie Lena Jones.  Mary ('May Lou' as she was affectionately called) accepted Christ at an early age and was always involved in her Church wherever she lived.  She married David Roosevelt Harris (affectionately called Rooster) of Lexington, Mississippi in 1952, and had eight children.  Roosevelt (2008) as well as five children: Robert, Jessie, Lillie, Monroe and David: two grandchildren Charles and Nancy; and siblings Jack, Willie D., Arthur, Sam, and Christine preceded her in death.

Mary and her husband moved their family to Chicago as young adults for a better life and stayed there 27 years.  After retirement

in 1979 they relocated to Portageville, Missouri and helped to raise great grands Latavia, Jaron and Nick.  Mary remained in Portageville

until 2018 at which time she moved with her daughter Daisy Lee to San Tan Valley, Arizona to be near family.  Mary's last move was to Horizon City, Texas in Spring 2023 to be near great grands that helped so much, Mazanee and Makiya.  She remained in Horizon City until God called her home June 5, 2025 9:08 p.m. with her daughter Daisy (roommate/caregiver) and granddaughter (her Nurse Michelin) at her bedside.

She leaves to miss and cherish her memories: daughters, Daisy, Johnnie and Barbara; daughter-in-law Lia, grand children: Michelin (Reggie), Kimberly, Nicole, Olivia, Beverly, Cheri, Christy, Derrick, Reginald, Michael, Keisha, Courtney, Cathy, Shonna, Oieda, Tiffany and Julian: more than 25 great- grandchildren and 8 great-great grands, nieces Mary, Terry, Lucille, Ophelia and Pastell: nephew Othello along with many more relatives and friends.
