W as born January 13, 1977 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Theresa Henson & Olan David Porter, Jr. She passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis at the age of 44.
On October 11, 1998 in Morehouse, MO, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bradley Joseph Blakey.
She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in elementary education and later, from William Woods with a master's degree in administration.
LeighAnn proudly devoted her life to teaching children. She taught and nurtured the children of our community for 16 years as an educator in the New Madrid school district. She was a faithful member of New Madrid Baptist Church where both she and Brad worked with the youth group for several years. She had a huge heart especially when it came to working with the youth at school and church. The children always knew she had an open-door policy and that they were always welcome.
Surviving is her father Olan David (Ruby) Porter, Jr. of New Madrid, MO. Her stepmother Linda Porter of Jackson,1 MO. Her husband Bradley Blakey of Lilbourn, MO. Her sons, Brock Porter Blakey of Sikeston, MO, Ty Bradley Blakey and Jack Donald Blakey of Lilbourn, MO. Her "bonus" son Monte Sykes of Sikeston, MO. Her brother, Olan David "Tripp" (Rebecca) Porter, III of Hahira, GA. Her sisters Tanya (John) Bledsoe of Charleston, MO, and Ashley (Terry) Williams of Batesville, AR.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Theresa Henson Lynch.
Visitation will be Friday evening, March 5, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at the New Madrid Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at the church on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Polk officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John R. Bledsoe III, David Trevor Bledsoe, Clayton Porter, Luke Johnson, Garrett Hanlin, and Craig Beasley.
