Martha Ann Williams Downing, 70, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009 at her Arlington residence. She was born to Lexie B. and Modell Yates Williams December 16, 1939 in Obion County, TN. She is a 1957 graduate of Portageville Missouri High School and also attended Memphis State. She married James Downing, the love of her life for 52 years. She adored her only child, Mark and her four granddaughters and great granddaughter, Madelyn. Mrs. Downing is survived by her husband James W. Downing; her son, James Mark Downing; her daughter-in-law, Ginny Downing; four granddaughters, Michelle (Patrick); Rachel, Lindsey, and Carly; and one great granddaughter Madelyn; two sisters, Linda Williams Thomen, and Doris Jean Williams Flores (Felix); one brother, Lexie Williams Jr. (Tina); her nephew, Matthew Williams, and 2 nieces, Elizabeth Williams and Felicia Ann Flores. Martha was a lover of animals, especially her dogs, Boots and Anetto, and a cat, Big Boy.
