Maribelle Lancaster Crabtree

Was born on January 13,1932 in Wardell, MO to Newt Nelson Lancaster and Lorraine Joy (Walters) Lancaster. She passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in Bella Vista, AR at the age of 91.

Preceding her in death was her husband Billie E. Crabtree.  They were married in Woodriver, IL on July 25, 1951. They were married for 66 years.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Newt Nelson Lancaster and Lorraine Joy Lancaster, one sister, Betty June Greco and one granddaughter, Alaina Dawn Taylor.

In 1959, Maribelle became a member of Wardell Baptist Church where she was actively involved in Sunday School, Church Training, and the Women's Missionary Union. She served on various church committees taking on many leadership roles. Her faithful and sincere efforts for the cause of Christ in Wardell were a blessing to all.

In addition to her many church activities, Maribelle was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served in her community wherever needed. She enjoyed travel, camping and was an avid reader.

In the later years of her marriage, Maribelle worked outside the home.  Her most notable positions of employment were high school secretary for the North Pemiscot School District, working as a case manager at DAEOC (Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation) and as the City Collector for the City of Wardell.

She leaves to cherish her memories:  one son, William Nelson (Bill) Crabtree of Fishers, IN; two daughters, Cynthia June (Ray) Leyva of Missouri City, TX and Mary Susan (Ray) Taylor of Bentonville, AR;  her grandchildren: Sarah Crabtree Belyew, Allyson Crabtree Gallagher, James William Leyva, Amy Taylor Tummons, Melissa Taylor Mitchell, and Emma Taylor Cloutier; five great grandchildren, Ethan Belyew, Caleb Belyew, Titus Tummons, Kate Tummons and Carter Gene Mitchell and a host of many other relatives and friends.
