Lona "Mae" Simmons Was born July 10, 1919 in Tennessee to Nona (Haynes) Langley and Harley Langley; she died Thursday July 29, 2010 at Missouri Delta Medical Center at the age of 91 years and 19 days. She was united in marriage in 1932 to Robert Slaughter who preceded her in death; she married T.L. Goodman and Alfred Simmons who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death, were her parents, Nona (Haynes) Langley & Harley Langley; 1 son, Bobby Joe Slaughter; 1 daughter, Beulah Coble; 1 sister, Beauton Boatwright and several half-brothers & sisters. She leaves behind her to cherish her memories 2 sons; Bud Slaughter of Portageville, MO & Wayne Slaughter of Marston, MO; 1 daughter, Patricia Lohr of Portageville, MO; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 31, 2010 at DeLisle Funeral Chapel with Frank Paris officiating. Pallbearers were: Interment followed in Portageville Cemetery with DeLisle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
