W as born January 27, 1928 in Portageville, MO and passed away April 5, 2016 at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. She was united in marriage, December 31, 1954 to the love of her life, Paul "Pete" Welch. They were married in Portageville, where they raised their family and were the proud owners of the Econo Mart Store, landowners and other enterprises, but her greatest pride was her family.

L illian was a loving wife, mother, meemaw and friend. She inspired those close to her with her loving nature, internal strength, but most of all her sense of humor. She found amusement in every situation and often said she laughed her whole life.

L illian was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Paul DeLisle and Grace Burgess DeLisle; loving husband, Pete; beloved son, Judson Monroe Welch; sisters, Regina DeLisle Rhind and Emma Jane DeLisle Mahan: brother, Jesse Joseph DeLisle II.

S he leaves to cherish her memories one son, Walter Alan (Sarah) Welch of Port Royal, SC: her daughters: Pat (James) Bright of Henderson, TN, Paula Barnett of Portageville, MO, Mona (Jim) Ermatinger of Chatham, IL, Carolyn Ellington of Seymour, IN, Vicky Welch of Danville, VA and Eenie (Ronnie) Rudd of Newbern, TN: Sixteen Grandchildren: 9 Great-grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends.

L illian took great pride in her ancestral history being a large portion of the history of Southeast Missouri. Her grandfather Jesse J. DeLisle, was a businessman, landowner, and an early mayor of Portageville. His wife, Emma LeSieur DeLisle, was the niece of Francois and Joseph LeSieur, the founders of New Madrid.
