He died January 30, 2008 at St. Francis Hosp. in Cape Girardeau, MO at the age of 64 years, 9 months and 14 days. He was united in marriage in Hayward, MO on March 17, 1973 to Bernice Lee Clark. She preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 2000. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Elmer Lewis & Vonnie Kirby Atteberry and one step-son, Gary Joe Whittemore.
