Karen (Scobey) Chapman

On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Karen (Scobey) Chapman died peacefully surrounded by her family.  She was 72 years old. Karen was born on July 14, 1949 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Dub and Dortha "Dot" Scobey.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Craig Scobey, granddaughter Lindsey Jane McKay, daughter-in-law, Lisa McKay, grandson-in-law, Christopher Mikel.

Karen is survived by her husband Kenneth Chapman and her loving children and grandchildren, her sons; Thom McKay of Friendship, Tn, Kevin (Misty) McKay of Dexter, MO, Corey (Becky) McKay of New Madrid, MO, s ister-in-law: Paula Scobey of New Madrid, MO, her grandchildren; Casey (Dustin) McKay Williams, Garrett (YaVessa) McKay, Colton McKay, all of New Madrid, Jaden, Jeremiah, Jacob and Harper Grace McKay all of Dexter, MO, Rickie (Angel) Holloway, Jr. of Campbell, MO, Krystal (Josh) also of Campbell, Foster her  great-grandchildren; Bentley, Eli, McKenzie, Elijah, Eric (Hannah) of Del Rio, TX,  Aaron Holloway, Rihanna Holloway Jones (Cody) Jackson Mo, Natalie Holloway, Kerrigan Foster and Kelsey Foster of Campbell, great-great grandchild, Piper Josephine Holloway,  her nephews, Billy Paul Scobey of New Madrid, Christopher (Ashleigh) Scobey of New Madrid but currently stationed in Misawa, Japan and several bonus and extended children and grandchildren of blended families that were all very special to her.

Karen was a longtime member of the Methodist Church in New Madrid, she was also a member of the Eagles. Among her many achievements, she was just recently retired from being New Madrid City Clerk, she also worked for 27 years at the Department of Mental Health. Karen or "Nana" as she affectionately known was super proud of her grands and loved being with them. Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all.

Service were conducted Saturday April 9, 2022 at Noon at the New Madrid United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Lippstreu officiating burial followed in Mounds Park Cemetery.
