Juanita Shoults was born March 12, 1928 in Ste. Genevieve, MO to Robert and Carrie Haug. She departed from this life on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in Kennett, MO, at the age of 96.

Juanita was united in marriage to Melvin Shoults on February 8, 1947 in Ste. Genevieve, MO and together they enjoyed 70 years of marriage.

Juanita worked for many years as the secretary to the superintendent of the Portageville Public Schools. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Portageville where she taught a women's Sunday School class for many years. More recently, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Kennett. She also was a member of the Chapter GU of the PEO Sisterhood. Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she showered all she knew with love.

Juanita is survived by her two daughters: Janet (John) Scherer of Kennett, MO and Carole (Lewis) Douglas of Chesterfield, MO; three grandchildren: Jason (Meghan) Scherer of Kennett, MO; Steven (Katie) Scherer of Kennett, MO; and Emily (Micah) Baize of St. Louis, MO; eight great-grandchildren: Adeline Scherer, Norah Scherer, Jack Scherer, Sophia Baize, Grace Baize, Eli Baize, Cooper Scherer, and Sloan Scherer; brother Robert (Louise) Haug of Arnold, MO; and nephew John (Margie) Haug of Kirkwood, MO.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Carrie Haug; her husband, Melvin; and one infant son, Bobby Wayne Shoults.

Honored to serve as pallbearers: Micah Baize, John Haug, Lewis Rone, Jason Scherer, and Steven Scherer. Honorary pallbearers include Lewis Douglas, Melvin Johnston, and John Scherer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Women's Ministry fund at First Baptist Church in Kennett, MO.
