Juanita Louise Johnson

Juanita Louise Johnson, at the age of 94, passed away on July 13, 2023. She closed her eyes peacefully and when she opened them again she was in the presence of Jesus.

She was born August 12, 1928 in Catron, Mo to George and Carrie Bell Lambert Taylor.

She married the love of her life Elmo Johnson on November 20, 1945. To this union was born 3 children, Phyllis (Tony) Thompson, Judy Johnson and Jimmy Johnson & Tim Abanathy Jimmy (Cindee) Johnson, all of Portageville, Mo.

Grandchildren: Walter (Kim) Thompson of Camarillo, Ca, Jason (Melissa) Thompson of Lake Tahoe, Ca, Sherry (Shane) Lorance of Anchorage, Ak, Jacob (Shelly) Johnson of Sikeston, Mo, Aimee (Josh) Jinks of Cape Girardeau, Mo, and Zachary Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Mo, Great Grandchildren: Julie and Clay Jinks, and Luke Johnson.

She was a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to cook and tried to feed anyone that came to her home. Every year she and Papa would have a big garden and she would can and preserve everything she could. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville, Mo for 65 years. She was known to many as Nanny. Her grandchildren adored her, they and their friends visited and kept her a part of their lives. She wasn't afraid to try anything and if she was our dad could talk her into it. They were loving parents and taught that love to their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
