Joyce May Cook Elrod passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.  Joyce was born January 21, 1945 in Uxbridge, Felix, England to Sam F. Cook, Jr and Barbara Gray Cutler Cook.  Joyce and her mother made the journey to the United States aboard the Queen Mary when Joyce was just 13 months old.

Joyce or "Joycee-May" leaves behind to cherish a special "daughter" Stacey Fisher Walker, her husband, Rodi Walker, and "grandchildren", Gunnar and Kasen, along with her lifelong neighbor and dear friend, Shelly Jean Fisher.

Joyce worked as a Lab Technician for many years at the University of Missouri Delta Center, in Portageville, Missouri. When she was not helping Jake and Shelly raise Stacey, she enjoyed driving a Bob Truck hauling the grain her husband, Joe, harvested on the Fisher's farm.

Preceding Joyce in death include her parents, Sam and Barbara Cook, and her beloved husband of 53 years, William Cleo "Joe" Elrod, Jr., whom she missed dearly since his passing on March 26, 2017, and a dear lifelong friend, Jake Fisher of Portageville, Missouri.
