Johnnie Keel

Johnnie Keel, age 85, of Portageville Missouri, passed away on March 5th, 2025, at home with his wife and daughter at his side.

Johnnie was born on June 1st, 1939 in Ponder, Missouri to the late Woodrow (Virgin) Keel. He married his loving wife Elaine Keel on February 4th, 1976, in Portageville. Johnnie loved the Lord and was a pastor for over 50 years. He was a well-known Barber in Portageville and Kennett. You were guaranteed to hear a good joke and enjoy a piece of Double Bubble Gum after a haircut. When he wasn't cutting hair, or preaching, you could find him on his horse enjoying a trail ride and camping.

He is survived by his wife Elaine Keel of the home, his daughter Sara Keel (Evan Quick) of Portageville, as well as his two grandchildren Anna and Jon-Dalton Quick. He is also survived by one Brother James (June) Keel of Paragould Arkansas, one sister Mary Lou Smith of Conyers Georgia, Niece Tina (Scott) Amy of Flint Michigan, and many more family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by one twin brother Jimmie (Marie) Keel, and three sisters Bonnie, Phyllis, and Pat.

Johnnie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who touched many lives and will be truly missed by many friends and family.
