Jimmie Nell Ward

W as born December 22, 1945 in Elbridge, AL to Verna Sims  and Bill Long. She passed away on Thursday June 20, 2019 at new Madrid Living Center in New Madrid at the age of 73 years, 5 months & 29 days.

P receding her in death was her parents;   Verna Sims Long and Bill Long , three brothers; Harold Long in 1955, Lecil Long in 1972 & Cecil Long in 1942.She was united in marriage to Bobby Ward on June 8, 1963 at Hayward Baptist Church, he survives of the home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville and a member of the JOY Sunday School Class. She served on several committees within the church. She was a graduate of North Pemiscot high School- Ross class of 1963. Retired from University of Missouri Delta Center 1968-1997 as a Cotton Technetion

Jimmie Nell enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved working in her flowers and yard.

S he leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 56 years: Bobby Ward of Portageville, MO, her daughter: Shelia Ward of Hayward, MO, one sister: Sue (Arnold) Myrick of Sikeston, MO, two grandchildren: Sherrie (Billy) Hendrix & Megan Dorris both of Hayward, MO, her four great grandchildren: Kaylee, Kenzie, C.J & Graclyn, many nieces, nephews and a host of many other relatives and friends.
