Jim Lee Harris

W as born October 21, 1954 in Sikeston, MO to Grace E. (Acord) & Hubert Harris. He passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at St Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 25 days.

J im married his sweetheart, Jessie Riggs. on December 1, 2007 in New Madrid, MO, Preceding him in death was his parents, Grace E. (Acord) Harris in November 2015 and Hubert Harris in  April 1973 also preceding him in death was one sister, Janet Louise Harris.

J im served his community as Fire Chief for New Madrid for many years. He was always there helping people and being very active in his community  and through this role he took on many actives in his community such as annual Thanksgiving Turkey cook out, the Santa Come to Town with the kids and his wife Jessie or taking part in the annual Fire Prevention Week at the schools for the children which Jim cared a lot about, but through it all Jim never lost contact with his family especially his wife and kids, he was a very family orientated and enjoyed every minute he got to cherish with them. He leaves behind his memories: his wife Jessie Harris of New Madrid, MO, sons; Gavin Jesse Harris. Waylon James Harris & Darren Russell Duckworth  all of New Madrid, MO, his daughter; Grace Elizabeth Harris of New Madrid, MO. his brothers; Don (Nina) Harris of Middleton, TN, Hubert (Gina) Harris of New Madrid, MO. Ed (Holly) Harris of Vicksburg, MS, Rick Harris of Sherwood, AR, Scott (Judy) Harris of Jackson, MO, his sister; Doris Masterson of New Madrid, MO and a  host of many other relatives. Firefighters & friends.
