Jerry Wendal Wallace, 78, of Hayti, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his family farm on November 17, 2025. Born in Cape Girardeau, Jerry was the son of Raymond and Lena Mae (Stafford) Wallace. A Ross High School graduate, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and earning multiple honors, including the Vietnam Service Medal and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

While on leave in Taiwan, Jerry met and married Shu Yuan "Linda" Chan in 1971. Together, they returned to the Bootheel, where Jerry rejoined his family at the Wallace farm. Later on, Linda took a job at Plastene Supply Company. Jerry was known for his love of family, farming, and classic cars, as well as his deep devotion to church and community.

He is survived by his children and niece, Susan Wallace Leonardi (Mark) and John Ray Wallace (Cristi), and by Heidi Wallace Langston (Tim), and by his grandchildren, Abigail, Isabelle (Igor), and Michael. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, and brother, Lonnie Wallace.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 21, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ, 200 W 10th Street, Caruthersville, with a potluck lunch to follow. Friends and neighbors are encouraged to share their memories with family members.
