Jerry Willard Hillis Was born October 22, 1928 in Matthews, Mo to Ervin Hix Hillis and Zonie Stroud Hillis. he died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 at his residence in Melbourne, FL at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 17 days. He was united in marriage November 12, 1949 in Marston, MO to Alberta Curtis, she survives of the home. Preceding him in death were his parents, Zonie Stroud Hillis & Ervin Hix Hillis. 2 Infant sons and three brothers, Ruben, H.B. & J.T. Hillis, one sister, Venita Curtis. He served in the United States Army. In 1968 he left Southeast Missouri for Melbourne Florida where he worked as an Auto Mechanic as well as a Submarine Mechanic. He leaves to cherish his passing his wife, Alberta Hillis of Melbourne, FL, one daughter; Marla Powell of Melbourne, FL, brothers, Franklin Hillis of New Madrid, MO Bud Hillis of Fredricktown, MO, sister: Alice Bearden of St. Louis, Mo 3 Grandchildren: Christian, James & Micaela Powell all of Melbourne FL and a host of many other relatives and friends.
