James Wade "Jim" Frakes
James Wade "Jim" Frakes was born July 29, 1942 in Blytheville, Arkansas to James Thomas "Tommy" Frakes and Imogene Hollenbeck Frakes. Jim was a member of the 1960 graduating class of Steele High School. He graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Class of 1964. Jim was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army. Jim worked in management with Siegel-Robert over thirty years, and provided human resources consulting with large companies during his retirement.
Preceding him in death were his parents Imogene Hollenbeck Frakes (1993) and James T. "Tommy" Frakes (1972), and his beloved sister, Mrs. Jean Ann James (2019)
On March 28, 1975 in Caruthersville he married Connie Romesburg, who survives of the home. Other survivors include his four sons and daughters in law: James T. "Jamie" Frakes and his wife Susan of Portageville; Jeremy Wade Frakes and his wife Nicole of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Richard Bowers and his wife Summer of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Robert "Bobby" Frakes and his wife Brooke of Palestine, Texas; and seven grandchildren: Molly, Maggie, and Thomas Frakes, Benjamin and Bailey Frakes, and Bastian and Briar Frakes.
Jim was a sportsman and competitor. He played baseball and basketball throughout his school years in Steele, Missouri. He loved playing tennis and was an avid golfer. Jim was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas State University.
Services will be conducted at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, Missouri on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 1:00 pm, with visitation beginning at 10:30 am. Bro. Webb Manley will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri with full military rites. His sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
