James Arthur Fisher, 78, of Daphne, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in Mobile, Alabama.
Born on December 29, 1947, in New Madrid County, Missouri, James was the beloved son of Minnie L. Tarrence Fisher and Rufus Fisher, who preceded him in death.
James spent his early years in Southeast Missouri, moving often during his youth before returning to settle in New Madrid. There, he dedicated many years to serving his community, working for the City Maintenance Department and eventually retiring as a respected supervisor. Known for his steady work ethic, warm heart, and quiet humor, James touched the lives of many through both his professional and personal life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Pat Fisher; his children, James J. Fisher, Alan Fisher, Rana Jackson, Melissa Hutson, and Denise Fisher; his siblings, Lloyd Fisher, Carolyn Oosterman, Dennis Fisher, and Billy Fisher; and his cherished grandchildren, James B. Fisher, Jon D. Fisher, Brandi Prestwood, Gary Hutson, MaKaela Herrera, Jace A. Fisher, and Jaden M. Fisher.
A memorial service to celebrate James's life will be held in May 2026, with details to be announced. His family invites all who knew him to join in honoring his memory and sharing stories of the man who meant so much to so many.
