Dr. James Andrew Deere DDS Was born April 30, 1956 in Sikeston, MO to Edward and Edna Mae Downing Deere. He died Friday, June 20, 2014 at his home in Portageville, Mo at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 15 days. Preceding him in death, was his sister Janet Elaine Deere, his mother-in-law, Anita Freed, his Uncle, Talmadge Burgess and brother-in-law, Johnny Davis. On April 5, 1986 he was married in Morley, MO to Sheilah Freed who survives of the home. He received his undergraduate at Arkansas State University, Jonesboro AR, he went on to receive his doctorate in 1983 at the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry. His practice was in his hometown of Portageville where he was a well-respected dentist for 31 years. He was a member of the Missouri Dental Association, The Southeast Dental Association & the American Dental Association, Past President of the Portageville Jaycees & Kiwanis member of First United Methodist Church in Portageville, where he was also in the Men's Club and served on the Board of Trustees. He coached softball, baseball. He was a volunteer for Smiles of Hope an organization that served Southeast Missouri. He loved golf, duck hunting and spending time at Norfork Lake with his family. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Sheilah Deere of Portageville, MO, his parents Edward and Edna Mae Deere of Portageville, Mo, son & daughter-in-Law, James Andrew & Stephanie Deere Jr. of Caruthersville, MO, his daughter, DeAnna Kay Deere of Murray, KY, brothers and sister-in-law, Dennis and JoAnn Deere of Cape Girardeau, MO, Stephen Deere of New Madrid, MO, one sister, Mary Kay Davis of New Madrid, MO, his aunt, Jewell Burgess of Hayward, MO, his father-in-law, Charles Freed of Morley, MO, two grandchildren, Stephen Andrew & Jewelya Kaye Deere of Caruthersville, MO, four nieces, 8 nephews and a host of many other relatives and friends.
