Jackson Douglas Kimes

Was born on April 26, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Mo to the late  Effie Mae Hoggard Kimes and Franklin Day Kimes.  He passed away at his home on Monday November 6, 2023 surrounded by his family in Portageville, Mo at the age of 81 years 6 months and 11 days.

He was united in marriage to Nelda James on June 30, 1962 in Portageville, Missouri, she survives of the home. He loved his family and farming, and showing off his Oliver tractors that he restored. He enjoyed watching Westerns and spending time in his chair in his shop.

Preceding him in death were his parents Franklin Kimes and Effie Hoggard Kimes, He was also preceded in death by his brother Sherman Kimes and sisters, Mary Joe Barnett.

He leaves to cherish his memories, His wife Nelda Kimes of the home. His daughter Leslie Hall of Portageville, Missouri and Granddaughter Megan Barnard and her husband Billy Barnard of Lee's Summit, Missouri. His brothers Albert "Bun" Kimes of Portageville, Missouri and Franklin Kimes of Atoka, Tennessee. One sister Shirley Henson of West Memphis, Arkansas. Sister-in-law Elaine Kimes of Portageville, Mo. Two Great Grandchildren Maci Jean and Crew Jackson Both of Lee's Summit Missouri, and a host of many relatives and friends.
