Jack Jones Jr.

Jack Jones Jr. was born May 10, 1942, in Jackson Mississippi to the late Ethel Lou (Campbell) Shepherd and Jack Jones Sr.  During his early childhood, he relocated with his family to Memphis, Tennessee and then later to Earl, Arkansas to be near Mother Shepherd's father.  Later as a young adult, Jack followed his brother's lead and settled in New Madrid, Missouri where he became a longtime resident.

From young adulthood, Jack sustained an occupation as a Farm Equipment Operator in which his main responsibility was driving a tractor.  Having had various farm related experiences, Jack's knowledge of agriculture, ability to operate various tools and equipment, and his strong work ethic allowed him to stay gainfully employed over the years including with Mark Baker and A.C. Riley Grain Company. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brother, working in the yard, and spending time with children, grandchildren, family and friends.

On June 28,2022, surrounded by family and friends, Jack made his transition in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 80 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Lou (Campbell) Shepherd, his father, Jack Jones Sr., three brothers, Richard James Jones, Sr., James Edward Dye, and James Earl Shepherd,  two sisters, Willie Mae Owens and Dorothy Grissom, three sons, Jack Jones III, Christopher Neal Jones, and Don Cornelius Kelly, 2 nieces Willie B. Owens and Linda Owens Macon, 1 son-in-law Patrick Burgess, 1 grandson Lee Jones, 1 great-grandson Antonio Jones, and his life-long friend, Irma Nolen.

Jack Jones Jr. leaves to cherish his enduring memory: one sister, Zelnora Brown of Sikeston, Missouri, four daughters: Stephanie (Kenneth) Parnell of Indianapolis, Indiana and Felicia (Danny) Loving of West Memphis, Arkansas, Louisa Wilson Burgess and ShaKandas Wilson of Jacksonville, Florida, three sons: Chevell (Marchell) Jones of West Memphis, Arkansas, Kevin Jones of Keshena, Wisconsin and Kevin Wilson of New Madrid, Missouri, 31 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 1 great -great granddaughter, the children of Irma Nolen, and a host of nieces, nephews and other close family members and friends who loved him deeply.

Beloved and respected by all those he opened his heart and life to, Jack will be missed dearly and cherished forever.
