Ida Marcella Edwards

Was born Jan. 31, 1932 in Portageville, Missouri to Shaw and Heneretta Hardin. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 1 day.

She married the love of her life, Joseph Vernon Edwards in Piggott, AR on February 1, 1947. At the time of his death, they were married 70 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Shaw & Heneretta Hardin, her husband, Joe Edwards and recently, her oldest son, Vaughn Edwards , 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Marcella leaves behind her children, Vaughn (deceased) his wife Debbie Edwards, Debbie Franklin and her husband Don, Tina Harris,  Leslie Gillean and her husband Paul, Bobby Edwards and his wife Sonja, 2 sisters, Joyce Riggleman & Doris Dennison. 19 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Marcella loved her family, she loved working cross word puzzle's  and reading.  She retired as a nurse with Dr. L.B. Painter in Portageville.  She was involved the BPW group for many years when she lived in Portageville, she attended the First Baptist Church and loved singing in the choir.

She and Joe moved to Sherwood, AR to be close to their kids and grandkids. She will be missed by so many that loved her.
