W as born September 24, 1937 in Steele, Mo to Howard Tillman and Lydia Crockett Tillman. He passed away on December 1, 2018 at his home in Conran, MO at the age of 81 years 2 months and 7 days.
M r. Howard grew up in Lilbourn, he graduated from Lilbourn High School he then attended the University of Missouri and graduated from Memphis State University with a B.S. degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He was a CPA for 30 years. As a CPA he worked for Alexander Grant, a national accounting firm, Branch Manager for Associated Capital in Meridian, Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee, the largest finance company of the New York Stock Exchange and Auditor of New Madrid County. He was appointed New Madrid County's first county auditor by Governor Mel Carnahan. He was a Member of AICPA American Institute of Certified Public Accountants/ Missouri State Society of Certified Public Accounts, Optimist Club/Kiwanis Club, Alpha Tau Omega, and an avid hunter and fisherman.
H e was untied in marriage to Brenda Pikey on June 5, 1960 in Portageville, MO, He was a member of the Portageville Methodist Church, a 32 degree Mason. Throughout his life Howard worked with several civic organizations in the communities in which he lived. He had a lot of close friends, especially his buddies at Katie's restaurant. Preceding him in death were his parents: Lydia Crockett Tillman and Howard Tillman, two brothers; Jerry and Johnny Tillman.
H e leaves to cherish his many memories; his wife of 58 years Brenda Tillman of the home. His daughter, Debbie Long (Troy) of Lebanon, TN, and son, Sam Tillman of Portageville, MO. One Sister, Mary Ann Buczek (Mike) Toledo, Ohio and A special friend and caregiver, Margaret Partee of Portageville, Mo. three grandchildren, Hayden and Mary Claire Tillman and Hannah Long and a host of other relatives and friends.
