Herman Paul Brands

W as born January 1, 1926 in Portageville, Mo. to Theodore and Rosina (Elfrink) Brands. He died March 1, 2017 at Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Mo. at the age of 91 years and 2 months.

S eptember 26, 1950 in Leopold, MO he married Catherine (Beussink) Brands. She preceded him in death May 31, 2015. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Rosina (Elfrink) and Theodore Brands, three brothers, Theodore "T" Brands, Frank Brands and Henry Brands, four sisters, Nora Scherer, Jane Priggel, Florence Elizabeth Brands, and Florence Scherer. He was a member of St. Eustachius Church and served in the United States Army serving proudly in WWII, he was also lifetime member of the VFW, he farmed in Southeast Missouri for many years.

H e leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Susan and husband Stuart Jantz of Cape Girardeau, Mo, Rose Mary and husband George Winters of Dyersburg, TN, Joyce Brands and husband Dan Huckstep of Wappapello, Mo, his sister, Lucy Savat of Poplar Bluff, Mo, 5 grandchildren, Nathan Cross, Jason Adams and Leslie Heath, Laurence Winters and Valerie Duncan, great grandchildren, Emily Cross, Desmond and Sydney Cross, Alexis Heath, Mary Beth Duncan and a host of many other relatives and friends.
