Harold L. Butler Was born November 1, 1919 in Portageville, MO to Bertha Brasher Butler and Pete Butler. He died Monday June 15, 2009 at Hayti, MO at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 14 days. He was united in marriage on August 20, 1940 in Caruthersville, MO to Frances Mae "Topsy" Downing. She preceded him in death on March 16, 1998. Also preceding him in death were his two sons: Harold L. Butler, Jr. and David E. Butler and his parents, Bertha Brasher Butler & Pete Butler. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Portageville, MO, a Veteran of WWII serving in the Army and V.F.W. Post of Portageville. He leaves to cherish his memories one son, George R. "Bob" (Lois) Butler of Morley, MO; 2 daughters: Judith Frances Butler (Joe) Glasscock of Saratoga, FL & Elizabeth Lisa Ann Butler (Mike) O'Neal of Houston, Texas; 2 daughters-in-law: Linda Newman Butler of Webster Groves, MO and Mary Joe Butler of Portageville, MO; 1 brother, Dawson Butler of St. Louis, MO; 1 sister, Mary Bowen of Poplar Bluff, MO; 9 grandchildren: Tracy, Judy, Mary Frances, Carrie, Beth, Doug, Cheryl, David Lynn, Aaron and 4 great-grandchildren: Logan, Tristan, David Landon Butler & Ross Jenkins and a host of other relatives and friends.
